Custom Zero-Curb Shower Build With Heated Floors

Most showers are just functional. They do the job, but they don't really add anything to your day. What we built here is different - this is the kind of shower that actually makes your morning routine something you look forward to.

We went with large-format porcelain tile on the walls for a clean, continuous look that's also easier to maintain than smaller tile with lots of grout lines. The veining runs wall to wall and gives the whole space a high-end feel without being overdone. Paired with a penny mosaic floor, there's great texture contrast happening here - and the mosaic tile also does important work on the safety side by adding grip underfoot.

The zero-curb entry was a priority on this build. No threshold to step over, no awkward lip - just a seamless transition from the bathroom floor straight into the shower. It looks sharp, and it makes the space genuinely easier to use every single day. That matters more than most people realize until they have it.

Then there's the heated floor. Fall mornings are already tough enough without stepping onto cold tile. Having radiant heat built right into the floor is one of those features that sounds like a luxury until you have it - then it just feels like a necessity. We also built in a tiled bench and a recessed niche, so everything has a place and the space stays clean and uncluttered.

This is what a bathroom renovation should look like - not just a visual upgrade, but a space that works better for the person living in it every day. Every decision here was made with that in mind.
